In Phillip Lakin v. Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Sheriffs Risk Management Fund the Claimant was unsuccessful at trial and on appeal regarding his cardiac related claims. The E/C sought to recover taxable costs which included IME and EMA fees. The JCC addressed the individual items to which the claimant objected. The JCC overruled the objections except for the doctor’s witness fee of $500 but reduced it to $300 to reflect the statutory hourly limitation. Taxable costs ASSESSED against claimant in the amount of $5,744.21.
