In Jordan Barron v. Tri County Metals and Amtrust North America of Florida Claimant was injured and lost the fingers on his left hand. At first, he did not want a prosthesis but six months later he changed his mind. The authorized physician advised that additional revision surgery would be necessary before a prosthesis could properly be fitted. Claimant filed a PFB for authorization of a referral to prosthetic clinic which the E/C denied as premature. The JCC found the doctor’s testimony supported the E/C position in that the doctor opined referral would be appropriate in the future after claimant underwent revision surgery. Petition DENIED.
