Juan Jimenez v. Carpet Boutique II and Luke’s Flooring

Juan Jimenez v. Carpet Boutique II (E/C#1) and Luke’s Flooring (E/C#2) was a Ft. Lauderdale workers compensation case in which E/C#1 was determined to be the statutory employer. E/C#1 provided benefits for the claimant, while E/C#2 did not.
E/C#1 filed a motion for contribution and indemnification, claiming that the injury occurred in the course and scope of E/C#2, making them responsible for providing benefits. Due to E/C#2’s failure to provide benefits for their employee, they were ordered to pay out the E/C#1’s claim for contribution and indemnification.
