Lyndon Rodman v. Dead Bug Edwards and Praetorian Insurance Company

Lyndon Rodman v. Dead Bug Edwards and Praetorian Insurance Company was an amended order by motion of the E/C. The claimant suffered a work accident that left him a paraplegic, and he filed a PFB for benefits and authorization/provision of an ADA compliant home. The claimant proved he was entitled to handicapped-equipped housing in accordance with Lane v. Walton Cottrell Assoc. 442 So.2d 1023.
The E/C argued that they were not responsible for the full cost of the house, a dispute forming under Ramada Inn S. Airport v. Lamoureux, where the E/C argued they need only pay the difference in cost between the claimant’s former home and the newer one.
The claimant filed a second PFB seeking authorization/provision of 24 hour per day home attendant care. Testimony was given by multiple doctors, and although one doctor had conflicting evidence, the JCC ruled in favor of the Claimant.

Authorization/provision of ADA compliant home GRANTED; Authorization of 24-hour home health aide attendant GRANTED
