In Tara Jones v. Moran Foods dba Save-A-Lot Foods and Gallagher Bassett Services, Inc. Claimant suffered an industrial injury and was directed to MedFast Urgent Care for authorized treatment. Although the accident was accepted as compensable, the claimant had previously sought treatment with her primary care provider which resulted in an appointment with a spine specialist. Here, the claimant seeks temporary indemnity, authorization of a specialist, and compensability of claimant’s whole back rather than a strain. The JCC found that Claimant had established compensability of full back and established TPD since she was not seeking compensability of the unauthorized visit and provided support for TPD benefits. The request for a spine specialist was DENIED. Compensability of full back injury and TPD benefits GRANTED.
